In the dismal, mist-choked smugglers’ haven of Coldwater, the sullen and ugly locals mutter quietly about nearby Devil’s Cove and the impregnable stone doors buried at the base of its vertiginous cliffs. Accessible only a few times a year when spring tides at their lowest ebb reveal a slippery subterranean stair buried in the cliffs, the doors have so far resisted all efforts to open them. Wild and outlandish rumours speak of terrible dangers and glittering treasures lurking beyond the doors. With a tide low enough to reveal the steps’ entrance fast approaching, are the characters brave enough to dare to find out what lies beyond the unopenable doors?
